6th Grade Events


Coordinates 6th grade programs. Obtains volunteers & donations from 6th grade families for Fall Social,Teacher Appreciation Week and other events as needed.   


7th Grande Events


Coordinates 7th grade programs. Obtains volunteers & donations from 7th grade families for Fall Social, Teacher Appreciation Week and other events as needed.

Coordinates 8th grade programs. Obtains volunteers & donations from 8th grade families for 8th grade spring dance, Teacher Appreciation Week and other events as needed. Chairs 8th grade dance committee & gives status reports to PTSA Executive Board.

Book Fair

“Box Tops” & Earnings Programs 



Coordinates community wide collection contests & handles redemption process of Box Tops.  Also school liaison to Publix & Target Rewards.  Promotes LMS needs to neighborhood HOA e-news editors, churches, Sr. Centers, and community.  Chair reports earned income (as it is received) to PTSA Executive Board.

Community Outreach


Work with the LMS school counselors & local community leaders to create awareness programs & activities that benefit our greater community (i.e., Giving Tree).  Chair is PTSA contact person to determine how LMS can provide immediate relief for LMS families/faculty in need due to death, severe illness, fire, etc.



Copy Room


Chair trains volunteer workers, and coordinates and maintains work schedules for Production Lab (copy room).  Committee is responsible for making & distributing all school copies.

Dollars for Turkeys


LMS students & families bring in their dollars / change to raise money for those in need for the Holidays

E-News Communication Chair


LMS e-mail communication system editor.  Maintains automatic distribution list from website.  Consolidates important updates and/or upcoming events from 4 feeder elementary schools, Hillgrove HS, CCSD, local police/fire & LMS Administration.  Writes & posts news using web-based e-News tool to ensure timely broad-based communication & awareness.

Cristy Griffith





Works with the LMS & CCSD Maintenance, LMS family & community volunteers to plan work sessions for grounds improvement.  Work may include planting flowers/trees, weeding, spreading pine straw and light construction projects.  



Honor Roll Wall &

Bulletin Boards



Create & implement thematic displays for Fall, Winter and Spring quarters honoring those students receiving all "A" grades and students receiving all "A & B" grades with guidance from Administration.  Maintains PTSA info on bulletin boards with PTSA Exec Board & Administration’s direction.

Angie May



Plans and coordinates all volunteers, donations, and food and decoration purhases for general PTSA events. Some events include Staff Welcome Back Lunch, Xmas Dessert Buffet, and Teacher Appreciation Week Lunches, and other events as needed.

Communicates important local and state government PTSA issues to LMS families.  




Committee Chair & Exec Board develop a membership growth plan to support school PTSA events and programs.  Committee works during the summer to create/update all membership forms & packets, as well as obtain company promotionals and product incentives for membership packets. Committee conducts membership drive during Rising 6th Grade Boot Camp, Meet & Greet Event before school begins, Open House, and Fall Grade Level Social Event Ticket sales to collect membership forms/dues.

Red Ribbon Anti-Drug Week



Coordinates the alcohol, tobacco, drug & violence prevention awareness campaign in October. Coordinate and schedule week long themes, activities and outside programs.

Coordinates LMS participation in PTSA’s arts recognition program for students. Program emphasizes the importance of art in schools. Follows National guidelines for entries:

School Store & Spirit Wear


Chair designs spirit wear, orders & maintains product levels for the school store with Board approval & direction. Co-Chair coordinates volunteer work schedules for store’s daily operation (8:50a-9:10a).

Local businesses give back a portion of their proceeds back to LMS on designated Spirit Nights


Teacher of the Month and Student Recognition Programs


Chair coordinates Teacher of Month Award & works with Board on implementing various Student Recognition programs.  Committee develops Award Baskets for TOM, creates classroom “TOM” door decoration, and maintains forms on bulletin boards.
