 Interested in the direction your school is headed?Then you don't want to miss this golden opportunity! Lovinggood Middle School needs another parent representative on the School Council. This council meets once a month before school for 1 hour and discusses such topics as: - testing scores,
- school improvements,
- currently held council articulation help sessions,
- education items in the news,
- Splost voting, and more!
The Council is made up of a majority of parent members, teachers, business partners, and Mrs. Perkins. The council is an integral part of the school improvement process and help bring community concerns to school leadership.
If you or someone you know is interested in serving for this one or two year term, please contact Mrs. Perkins at the school at zinta.perkins@cobbk12.org. This is an elected position and we will hold a school election if multiple names are turned in.

The Cultural Arts Committee The Taste of Lovinggood Cultural Arts Festival Planning Committee is seeking Lovinggood Parents and Staff Members to volunteer for our upcoming event! We need your help to make this a memorable evening! This is an event that benefits the entire Lovinggood Family. We need at least 25 committed individuals to volunteer for a minimum of 1 hour on the evening of the event. Examples of volunteer activities include: Assist in the auditorium with performers Assist with seating in the auditorium Sell tickets for games and activities in the gymnasium Collect tickets and supervise the games Assist with the traffic and parking Assist in the cafeteria with vendors Assist with decorating the school on the day of the event Assist with set up and clean up

Lovinggood PTSA eNews!  Food Drive!  The Center for Family Resources is planning to feed over 1400 families this year (a 20% increase from last year), and have requested the help from the schools in collecting food. They count entirely on corporate and individual donations, as well as hundreds of volunteers, to accomplish this enormous effort. To help with this effort, we have a large collection barrel in the front foyer of the school for your donations. We would like to be the first school in the District to fill our barrell! Thanksgiving basket: - $15 gift certificate from a local grocer for a turkey*
- Dressing mix
- Cranberry sauce
- Canned or instant potatoes (sweet or white)
- Canned green vegetables
- Canned yellow vegetables
- Non-refridgerated pie shell and pumpkin pie mix
- Dried or canned milk
- Roasting Pan
In addition to these items, we also welcome the following items: - Dried beans
- Peanut butter
- Canned meat, tuna, or ham
- Rice, pasta, or cereal
- Soup
- Bread or rolls
- Canned fruit
*Please do not place gift certificate in basket.
*We cannot accept items that require refrigeration. (i.e. turkeys, milk, etc.) Food will be delivered or picked up on Friday, November 21st. Lovinggood PTSA eNews! LOVINGGOOD PTSA MEMBERSHIP It’s not too late to become a PTSA Member! Thank you to everyone who has already invested in your child’s school. Thus far we are standing at 1,022 members strong, including 100% staff membership. Our goal is to reach 100% membership school wide and we are approximately 75% of the way there! By reaching our goal, the PTSA can be fully committed to funding the many programs available to ALL of our students as well as enhance the classroom technology by purchasing new Digital Document Cameras and Electronic White Boards WITHOUT ADDITIONAL FUNDRAISING. The way it works is that the school collects, starting at any time they wish and then when the barrel is full, they can empty the cans in a storage area and start filling up the barrel again. Someone at the school can count the items prior to pick up to let CFR know how many items they have collected to be entered in the school contest. Today was a difficult day for our school. This morning, I was
informed that Matthew Redd, an eighth grade student, passed
away yesterday. Many of you may know of this now; a letter was sent
home with your child today. Of all of the duties that I have as a principal,
this is the most difficult.
Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Redd. They also have a sixth
grade child at Lovinggood. We certainly want to keep them in our thoughts
and prayers. On behalf of the family, I would like to share with

Lovinggood MS PTSA eNews - After school tutoring begins

Lovinggood PTSA eNews!  Does your student need tutoring?
Lovinggood's After School Program will begin on Tuesday, October 14. The program will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is designed to provide academic support for students in reading, language arts and math. Letters were mailed to identified students who are encouraged to attend. Parents, please respond by Friday, October 3. If you did not receive a letter and are interested in your child attending the program, call your child's counselor at 678.331.3015.
With high stakes testing such as the CRCT, EOCT (End of Course Test) and even college aptitude tests, the importance of providing students extended learning time becomes even more critical. To help your child prepare, visit our website and click on Skills Tutor. This is an individualized software program that has tremendous results. Parents have personally mentioned how the software program helped their child. Students who used the program last year should have the same login and password. Follow the directions provided on the link.
