Lovinggood PTSA eNews! Safety Goggles to be available
Attention Lovinggood Parents!
As you know, our philosophy is that many of the concepts we teach in science can best be learned through participation in hands-on activities in the classroom. Often those science labs require that our students wear eye protection, which we do provide.
Safety glasses are only effective if students wear them, however, and unfortunately that doesn’t always happen. Objections we frequently hear are that the style of goggles we have are uncomfortable, and that the goggles smell funny because they have been worn and sanitized so many times. We understand and want to offer an alternative.
We have arranged with the PTSA to offer safety goggles designed to meet the needs of our school labs. They will be available for student purchase for $3.50 through the School Store. We have selected a style that is worn like eyeglasses; they don’t have the elastic back strap that so many of our students dislike. Of course, no one will be required to purchase a pair and we will always have safety glasses available in the classroom.
If you think you might be interested in purchasing a pair of safety goggles, please print this form and turn in the bottom portion to your science teacher, or just send an email. You are not placing an order or making a commitment to buy - this will just help us know how many we need!

It's time to help our less fortunate Lovinggood families for the holidays! Our counselors have determined the families in our school that need our help this holiday season.
Volunteers will be on hand from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. each morning to help your student pick a gift or to collect all gifts.
Once the gift or gift card is bought, return the unwrapped gift or gift card to the Volunteer at the tree! The counselors will then coordinate with the families in need to pick these items up before the holidays.

Parents and Students,
It's time to help our less fortunate Lovinggood families for the holidays! Our counselors have determined the families in our school that need our help this holiday season.
Each day, from December 3 through December 14, the “Giving Tree” will be open in the front lobby of the school. Volunteers will be on hand from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. each morning to help your student pick a gift or to collect all gifts.
Simply fill out the bottom portion of this letter, and have your child return it to the Giving Tree volunteer on those mornings. Your student will then pick a Hawk or ornament off the tree with a specific gift or a gift card in a specific amount listed on it.

Lovinggood PTSA eNews!  6th Grade Holiday Party Dear Parents & Guardians,
Plans are underway for the Student Holiday party to be held on Wednesday, December 16th, from 2:30 to 4:00. We will be hosting team parties, with teachers planning activities for the students (karaoke, movie, and games). We will be soliciting food/beverage donations from students and parents for the party based on the students’ homeroom, see list below. All items purchased should only cost between $2 and $4. Therefore, if you would rather submit a donation instead of providing the requested item, your student may bring in this donation starting next Thursday, December 10 through Tuesday, December 15. This money will be used to supplement the items below by purchasing items that are not as prevalent once students have brought items in, and to purchase items for our Holiday Drawing (see below).
Please send all food & beverage items and monetary donations from Thursday, December 10 through Tuesday, December 15.
In addition to the food and festivities, there will be a holiday gift silent drawing in which the students will be using “iBucks” they will be earning for various things between now and the party to win prizes. In order for this to be successful, we need parent assistance in the form of either donations of items, i.e. gift cards, new books, sports items such as basketballs, or monetary donations as described above.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to enjoying this time with your students and providing a celebration that they will remember.

Lovinggood MS PTSA eNews - 7th & 8th Winter Celebrations announced

Lovinggood PTSA eNews!  Winter Celebration for 7th and 8th grade levels The students will be having their holiday party on Wednesday, December 16th from 2:45 PM until 4:00 PM. In order to have enough funds for the party, each student will be asked to donate $2. That money will go towards purchasing the party food (pizza & cookies). Parents are asked to also donate water bottles.
A team of volunteers will be collecting the $2 donations and water bottles all next week (Dec 6-11). Tables will be set up on each grade hallway from 8:40 AM-9:30 AM.
