School District Seeks Public Input For New Strategic Plan

The School District administration presented to the Board of Education a draft strategic plan during the March 11 work session. The plan provides overall direction to the District and serves as a foundation for monitoring student success and District accountability. The Board voted to receive the draft and make it available to the public for input for 30 days.

The draft strategic plan is available for review on the District Web site by clicking here. The page includes a online form to submit feedback.

PENS Bulletin

Cobb County has experienced an increase in residential burglaries, specifically in the south part of the county which covers Precinct Two. The south side of Precinct Five (i.e. 514 beat) borders the north side of Precinct Two at Powder Springs Road. To combat the current trend, the Cobb County Police Department established a team of experienced supervisors, detectives, and officers to specifically target residential burglaries.

This special unit is now referred to as “BAT” (Burglary Apprehension Team) and since it's inception on February 16, 2009, there have been several arrests attributed directly to the new unit. Precinct Five has more residential burglaries in 514 beat and the Powder Springs Road corridor than the rest of the zone. If a citizen observes suspicious activity in their neighborhood, it is requested that it be reported. No one knows better than its residents what may be out of place in the neighborhood.

To report any suspicious activity or provide information on any other type of crime dial 9-1-1.

Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10.

Have a safe holiday!
