Get your taxes prepared for free from VITA!
VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, is a free tax preparation service. Oakwood Open High School here in Cobb County hosts the only high school VITA center in Georgia and is operated by students and staff. 2010 will represent the eighth year of operations. During the previous seven years, the tax center has prepared over 1200 returns, yielding refunds in excess of $800,000 and saving tax filiers thousands in preparation fees.
Oakwood's VITA center is operated in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service and the Atlanta Proserity Campaign. It's operations have been funded by grants from Cobb Schools Foundation and Walton Communities Apartment Homes, LLC.
